The DIGITEL VenturiCal is a Venturi type flow meter designed according to ISO 5167. It is used for flow calibration in Digitel High and Low Volume Aerosol Samplers, including models like the DHA-80, DH-77 and DPA-14. The battery-powered operation mode ensures easy mobile application, while convenient handling allows for efficient and precise calibration procedures.
To gain further insight into the VenturiCal, we spoke with Alejandro Horvat, our electronics and software specialist at the Volketswil headquarters, who was directly involved in its development.

1. How did the idea of designing the VenturiCal come up?
The calibration process, especially in the Low Volume Sampler, relies on reference calibrators which are usually very expensive. In addition, manual calibration requires the user to enter all parameters manually, which makes the process complicated and inaccessible. The idea of developing VenturiCal was born with the objective of automating this process, simplifying it and at the same time offering a more flexible solution that could be easily adapted to other products, such as the High Volume Sampler.
2. What important need does VenturiCal meet?
VenturiCal meets the need for highly accurate and automated calibrations. This not only reduces the difficulty of the process, but also minimizes the margin of human error, ensuring consistent and reliable results.
3. Any other interesting facts you would like to share about the VenturiCal
The modular design of VenturiCal is one of its most outstanding features, as it allows the development of different types of probes to adapt to different devices. For example, in addition to being compatible with Low Volume and High Volume Samplers, it can be adjusted to the specific needs of customers with particular requirements.
